I HIGHLY recommend the Orlando Epilepsy Center Monitoring unit. The staff here is INCREDIBLE. When I first arrived I was overwhelmed and nervous of what exactly my time here was going to look like. The Nurses and Technicians understood and walked me through each step of testing and what to expect. They are extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.
I felt safe and secure in this monitoring unit. That if anything were to happen, I was in the right place with the right Dr’s, Nurses and Technicians.
Staying here was comfortable and cozy compared to a stay at the hospital. My appointment and room were on time. We ordered lunch and dinner from local restaurants, which was amazing compared the typical Hospital food.
I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff and facility. I have an immense amount of gratitude for the team here and appreciate how they made me feel during my time.
There's no comparison I can make between my stay in the Orlando EMU and any other healthcare facility. It truly stood out, putting the "special" back in specialist.
It's only appropriate that healthcare be cold (temperature-wise), sterile (procedure-wise), and objective (treatment-wise). Tests are tests, and control conditions matter. I've always felt extremely uncomfortable in these environments, as I feel something of the human touch is often lost. However, I did NOT feel this way at the Orlando EMU.
At the EMU, I recognized the warmth and genuine concern that the nurses, care-team, and staff have for their patients. I was amazed at how well the EMU balanced the daily procedures and tests with a friendly and accommodating environment. In particular, Trisha and Tara made a point to go above and beyond to support me in a particularly vulnerable moment of social anxiety. They were also aware and sympathetic regarding a recent death in my family. It says much about their hearts and characters that they could professionally conduct their jobs, not allow me to jeopardize my own treatment, and level with me as a fellow human being. Healthcare could learn a lot from the approaches both Trisha and Tara demonstrated to me.
Each day I was well aware of what to expect. My schedule for testing, resting, and meals were all made perfectly clear. The nurses and staff, including Jose, Courtney, Lori, Gala, Marilyn, Christine, and Julie were available at a moment's notice, and I eventually figured out it wasn't necessary to apologize for needing help for literally anything. Everyone at the EMU made this process much easier than I expected it to be, and I highly recommend them.
Orlando's EMU, the level of professionalism and comfort it provided me (while I was literally plugged into a wall the entire time) exceeded my expectations. There were moments of cabin fever, but the time flew by faster than I expected, and that credit must be given to the EMU's entire staff. Thank you; all of you.
My experience here is extraordinary and the care that gives the nurses and technicians are the best on this state of Florida! You feel that you are in a home and not in a hospital or clinic
Amazing center, the staff is attentive and caring. They go above and beyond to make the patient and family feel comfortable, the center is beautiful and spotless. They set the bar really high for any facility.
